This newsreader appears to work with any RSS file regardless of version. Let me know if you find a feed it doesn't work with.
To use this you need to have a list of RSS feeds you want to read. This is an XML file in the form of the following:

<rssfeeds version="0.1">

Justin's Journal

Things I think about things I see.

</rssfeeds>
You can add up to about 60 channels before the reader craps out on you. I'm trying to figure out what it is causeing the limit but so far I've no idea what is happening.
If you want my list to have something to edit you can pick it up at http://www.dallasbay.net/newsfeeds/blogfeeds.xml. You can also find a couple of lists of pure newsfeeds at http://www.dallasbay.net/newsfeeds/newsfeeds.xml and http://www.dallasbay.net/newsfeeds/newsfeeds2.xml. Just drop these files in a place accessable via a URL by my server and you've got your own list. Tips on how to find RSS feeds can be found at this site.
